ADULT

Adult Basketball: A 5-on-5 competitive and recreational division is held at the Quincy University Rec Center with a 10-game schedule during winter.  AGES: 18+ More Info

Adult Soccer: The Quincy Park District Adult Soccer League is held during the fall. AGES: 18+ More Info

Adult Softball: Grab your mitt and get ready for the softball season. Men's and Women's leagues offered beginning in April. Adult Co-ed league offered in August.  Games are played in Wavering/Moorman Park.  AGES: 18+

Down Om Yoga: This class is taught by Mahala Grant-Grierson. The class is held on Saturdays from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m., year-round.  A 10-class punch card can be purchased at the Park District Office to attend the class. AGES: 3+. More Info

Family Park Workout: This class helps families carve out time together and focus on healthy activity during the summer and early fall.  AGES: 4+

Ladies Get Golf Ready: Westview Golf Course and Knights of Columbus are offering a 5-week program, Ladies Get Golf Ready. The program will introduce the game of golf to new and beginning golfers.  PGA Professionals will teach the basics of golf at Westview Golf Course and the K of C Range/Course.  More Info/Online Registration

Low Impact Fitness Exercise: The Quincy Park District will once again offer Low Impact Fitness Classes this Fall, Winter and Spring. The class will feature a gentle warmup, floor exercise and a low impact style workout.  AGES: 16+ More Info/Online Registration

Shoshinkan Martial Arts: Youth and adult classes will be taught by Tay Sonethongkham and his black belt staff. The club has been teaching martial arts in the area since 1979.  AGES: 13+.  More Info/Online Registration for Adult Beginner.  More Info/Online Registration for Adult Advanced.

Tennis - Adult Instruction: Classes are designed for the beginning to intermediate player. Our certified instructors do an excellent job of teaching tennis fundamentals.  AGES: 16+  More Info/Online Registration

Walk a Hound, Lose a Pound: Get out this summer for some exercise with a four legged friend. The Quincy Park District and Quincy Humane Society are teaming up to bring you Walk a Hound, Lose a Pound.  AGES: 15+  More Info/Online Registration

Zumba Fitness: Zumba is a dance-fitness class that combines Latin and International music and dance moves. The combination of music and movement creates a dynamic, exciting and effective fitness program.  AGES: 16+  More Info

AQUATICS

Aqua Zumba: Aqua Zumba is a low impact, cardio workout taking place at Indian Mounds Pool each summer.  AGES: 18+ More Info/Online Registration

Birthday Splash Bashes: A party includes pool admission, cake and refreshments for 10 children for $65 ($4.25 for each additional child). A deluxe party includes pool admission, cake, refreshments, party favors, hostess, goodie bags, prizes, candy and a coupon for one round of mini golf for $95 ($6 for each additional child). For $120, one may upgrade to the Deluxe option to also include a large pizza. All party packages include admission to the pool for entire day. Guard Start: Get a jump into lifeguarding and water safety with an exciting program offered through the American Red Cross.  AGES: 11-15  More Info/Online Registration

Private Pool Parties: Have your next corporate or social outing at one of our terrific aquatic facilities! 50 people - $275 ($6 each additional person), includes use of pool; food and non-alcoholic beverages may be brought. Call (217) 223-7703 to reserve a date. Download a Private Pool Party form.

Teen Splash Bashes: Wavering Aquatic Center hosts this fun event for area teens from 8-10 p.m. June 27 & July 25. Includes music, food, and swimming. Admission: $1.  AGES: 13-19  More info on June 27 event and More info on July 25 event

SWIM LESSONS

Fundamentals and skills of swimming will be taught, including stroke techniques. Classes are available for all skill levels.

Indian Mounds Pool Water Babies (Tuesdays and Thursdays): Water babies is a wonderful introduction to the water for children 9 months to 3 years old.

Outdoor Concert Series: On four Thursday nights in the summer, Madison Park will be the place to be as the Quincy Park District sponsors a series of outdoor entertaining events during the summer. More Info/Online Registration

First Bankers Trust Movies In the Park: Bring your chairs and blankets to Madison Park and enjoy a family friendly movie twice in the great outdoors during the summer. More Info/Online Registration

Storytelling by the Campfire: Have a fun-filled evening in October with stories by the campfire at this free event at Moorman Park large shelter with refreshments. More Info/Online Registration

Fishing Rodeo: This is a free event on June 7, 2014, at Moorman Park Lake and all ages are welcome in the summer.  More Info/Online Registration

Fishing Clinics: Our fishing clinics are designed for beginners to seasoned veterans. Instructors provide a wide range of fishing knowledge, including safety tips. Grab your rod and reel and head to Moorman Lake!  AGES:3+  More Info/Online Registration

Date Nights: Moms and Dads can go on a date anytime but how often does dad get a chance to take his daughter on a date or mom a chance to take her son? Educational

After School Program: The Quincy Park District offers an after school program for the children attending certain schools for the 2013-14 school year.  GRADES: K-3. More info for Berrian School.  More info for Ellington School.

Horsing Around:  Does your child love horses?  Register them for 'Horsing Around.'  Students will learn all about horses, feed, tack, doing chores, grooming, types of riding and leading.  They will also get to ride during the final class.  This class will take place at the Quincy Equestrian Services & Therapy (QUEST) Stables, 48th & Ellington, Quincy.  GRADES:  3-6.  More Info/Online Registration.

Kindergarten Prep: This program will introduce children to academic and social experiences through kindergarten preparation activities. Students will explore counting, letter recognition, writing, crafts and games. More Info/Online Registration

Future Hawk Sports Camp:  ‘Future Hawk’ Sports Camp is designed for children hoping to improve their athletic ability, and have some fun! Quincy University athletes will teach the fundamentals of your child’s favorite sports: basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, baseball and softball. AGES: 6-11  More Info/Online Registration

Junior Golf Boot Camp: Westview Golf Course is offering a Junior Golf Boot Camp on April 29, 30 and May 1. The program will introduce the game of golf to your child.

Soccer

The 6 on 6 Youth Soccer League is an opportunity for children to learn this exciting, global sport. Coaches will help them develop soccer skills in a fun, encouraging atmosphere in the spring/summer.

TENNISfest 2014:  The Park District and the Quincy Tennis Association are teaming up again for TENNISfest 2014 on May 4 at Reservoir Park from 1:00-2:30 p.m.  All ages are welcome at this event, and there will be prizes and a raffle for all participants.  AGES:  All.  More Info

Tennis Lessons:  Learn the game you can enjoy for a lifetime! USPTA and USPTR certified instructors will teach the fundamentals of tennis and help you refine your skills each summer. Youth lessons will also include the U.S.T.A. Quickstart tennis format on occasion, which reduces the standard court size, net height and adapts equipment for children's beginning skill level.
