Indian Mounds Pool – Manager
Hours vary Monday-Sunday
The Pool Manager position is a very important part of pool operations. This person will supervise and maintain a safe and clean environment for patrons and will be responsible for the daily organization of staff into required roles.  This position will have two Assistant Mangers to help with pool operations.
Duties for the position include; scheduling, ordering supplies, inventory management, supervision of all pool staff, evaluation of staff performance, organize staff into daily roles, daily pump house maintenance tasks, complete required paperwork and daily reports, monitoring pool chemical levels, ensuring a safe and friendly environment for patrons, coordinating swim lessons and water babies classes, accommodating any planned parties, travel in town for deposit and supplies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School degree and a minimum of two years’ of college experience are preferred
  • Experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Enjoy working with children and the general public
  • Good communication skills
  • Genuine interest in pool operations
  • Previous experience with pools and/or lifeguarding
  • Knowledge of pool chemistry
  • Commitment to entire pool season

The Batting Cage – Assistant Manager
Hours vary Monday-Sunday
This position will help the Batting Cage manager with operations of the facility.  This person will supervise and maintain a safe and clean environment for patrons and will assist with staff organization.
Duties for the position include; daily operations and customer service, fulfill customer orders, troubleshooting issues with hitting cages, in town travel for deposit and supplies, inventory management, accommodating any planned outings or parties, maintain attractions for a clean and professional presence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School degree
  • Enjoy working with children and the general public
  • Good communication skills
  • Previous experience with cash handling
  • Commitment to entire season
  • Food handling certification

Summer Playground – Program Coordinator
9:45AM – 3:15PM   Monday-Friday (Some weekends for special events)
7 Week Program
The Summer Playground Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and maintaining the Summer Playground program and for supervising all assigned personnel.  There are six program locations total, three from 10am – noon and three from 1 – 3pm.
Duties for the position include; daily operations of the program, travel to each site daily, maintain and control inventory of equipment and supplies, purchase needed supplies and equipment upon approval, coordinate weekly field trip, run pre-season training meeting with assigned staff, supervision and evaluation of all staff, discipline issues at all sites, assist staff with activity schedules.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School degree
  • Experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Enjoy working with children and the general public
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience with child care
  • Available to work entirety of program

Recreation Assistant Supervisor
Hours vary Monday-Sunday
The Recreation Assistant will assist the Recreation Supervisor in planning and managing for recreation programs, activities and events. Help to coordinate sports programs, special events and volunteer projects, and assist in program services. This includes the supervision of all assigned personnel. Work is performed under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High School degree and a minimum of two years’ of college experience are preferred
  • Experience in a supervisory capacity in the following (or related) fields is preferred:
    • Communication skills
    • Public recreation programming
    • Supervisory skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally
  • Ability to project a positive, consistent park district image
  • Ability to participate in the program services team
  • Prior experience in sports programs
