
Yoga In the Park
The Quincy Park District is offering “Down OM,” Yoga in the Park, this spring/summer in South Park to be taught by Mahala Grant-Grierson.

Join the class for fitness, flexibility and learn to still the mind through meditation and breathing exercises. Vinyasa Flow yoga will be taught and all ages, beginners to advanced, students are welcome to participate.
Vinyasa is one of the most common forms of yoga and incorporates a series of poses or flows. The class may also include some beginner level partner yoga, but no partner is necessary. There will be meditation to follow, for those interested in participating. Modifications will also be made for those that need it.
The class will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturdays. Due to inclement weather, the class will be held indoors in the Activity Center at Emerson Community Center, 1310 Washington. Cost is $50 for a 10-class punch card.
Grant-Grierson, the instructor, has received 200 hours of training from Three Sisters Yoga in New York City. She has previously taught yoga in the park and several studios in Brooklyn, NY, and has been a yoga student most of her life. She is a breast cancer survivor and started teaching yoga after battling the illness. Her hope is to help others through yoga and meditation.
Items suggested for the class are workout clothes, yoga mat, water and props, such as bolsters, straps or blocks as needed.
